“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17 NIV

Every morning, the first thing I see when I look out the living room window is the Big Dipper hanging in the sky. It is something I can count on, something I look forward to seeing each day.

For centuries mariners and other adventurers have looked for the Big Dipper to point them towards the North Star. As long as they frequently checked their bearings against this star they would never get lost.

Just as the Big Dipper helps us find true north, so the Bible guides us faithfully to Jesus, the “bright Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16. As long as we keep our eyes on Him we can never lose our way.

Today, stop stumbling through life without direction. God’s Word is a sure and steady guide for your path. Open its pages and let it teach you what is best for and direct you in the way you should go. Let it point you to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Put your hand in His right now and He will lead you home.
